Spotify is an excellent music and podcast streaming service with millions of users worldwide that offers an extensive variety of songs, albums, and unique podcasts. Spotify is available on mobile and tablet devices. Users can stream their favorite content for free, and for those who want to download and listen offline, a Premium subscription plan is available.
You may play any song in your collection, listen to music offline, have unlimited skips, and have an ad-free experience with the premium edition. The duo or family plans provide additional users access to the same account.
If you have a paid Spotify Premium account, go to the Spotify official website, log in, and select your name in the top-right corner to cancel. Navigate to the Spotify Free section by clicking Account > Available Plans and then scrolling down the page. Select “Cancel Premium.”
You are effectively switching to a free account by canceling your membership. Spotify notifies you of the benefits you lose and the date of such suspension. Select “Cancel Premium.”
After that, Spotify will ask you to respond to a survey regarding the reasons behind your cancellation of your premium account and whether you plan to subscribe again. If you want to, complete the form and click Submit.
Close a Free Account
You can only use shuffle play with a free Spotify account, so you can’t choose which songs play first. Go to Support > Account Settings > Closing Your Account > Close your account on the Spotify website to remove a free account.
If you aren’t already logged in, you will then be asked to provide your Spotify login details. After that, Spotify will ask if you’re sure. Press the “Close account” button.
Spotify requests verification that you are attempting to remove the correct account. At this point, check your email address and username, then click Continue.
After that, you are informed of everything that, upon account deletion, would no longer be accessible on your linked account. Now selecting “I understand” by checking the box, press the Proceed button.
Then, they ask you to check your email to finish the procedure. To completely close your account, click Close my account in the Spotify email. In the event that you decide to cancel, Spotify will send you a confirmation email with a link to reactivate your account. You have seven days to use the link before it expires and cannot use it to revive your account.
